A MESSAGE TO OUR EDUCATORS
Please read

.

Hello, I’m Johnny Mack. Please take the time to read this letter regarding our
dances at the Manchester Inn in Middletown.
I would like to invite all educators to come and see just how much fun the young people have at our dances.
We provide dance lessons and have a seventeen piece Big Band and we play swing music which
is very popular with the youth of today.

I would like to assure you that this form of entertainment is a wonderful and healthy outlet for today's youth.
Our music is not political, it does not promote rebellion nor does it have any "hidden" messages.

You must know that "swing" music stems from the Forties and now is updated to present day taste.
Music in our opinion tells a story, creates a mood or provides a median for dance

Today swing dancing and swing clubs are world wide and you will find hundreds of
swing websites on the internet.
It seems to me that the "promoters" of some of today's music have been irresponsible in their choice of
awards to present day groups.
I believe they have overlooked style, musicianship, talent, originality, and culture and have made
their choices based instead on dollars and cents.

This country was held together with swing music during World War II with such bands as
Glenn Miller, Harry James, Tommy Dorsey
and the like. This style is now returning, and to our young people it is exciting and fun.

We have observed our young crowds at Big Band Night as being a pleasure to have.
They come well dressed, they seem excited and
eager to learn about swing dancing and the older folks who attend love having them there.
I assure you it is a real pleasure to see this
movement in today's music and to be a part of it.

The Johnny Mack Super Big Band has many music educators within the band and for your information, we have been at the
Manchester Inn for the last 14 years.

In closing, I would like to invite you to attend Big Band Night at the Manchester Inn and see for yourself this healthy environment we
provide for the youth of today, and for all ages as well.

Thank you for reading this. If you have any questions or concerns, please call me at 937-252-9313.

Respectfully,

Johnny Mack
